“A selection can only have one winner. A princess only has one heart.”
Okay guys I have been binge writing for the past two days, I also have read two books cover to cover in the last two days so it’s safe to say I have started this summer occupied. And I just finished this book, The Crown by Kiera Cass literally 15 minutes ago so now that I have calmed down I’m ready to review it!
When Eadlyn became the first princess of Illea to hold her own Selection, she didn’t think she would fall in love with any of her thirty-five suitors. She spent the first few weeks of the competition counting down the days until she could send them all home. But as events at the palace force Eadlyn even further into the spotlight, she realizes that she might not be content remaining alone.
Eadlyn still isn’t sure she’ll find the fairy-tale ending her parents did twenty years ago. But sometimes the heart has a way of surprising you…and soon Eadlyn must make a choice that feels more impossible, and more important, than she ever imagined.
Guys I love The Selection series! It was the first series I started because of BookTube and book blogging and the first series I read after discovering this online book magic.
So, going into The Crown I was of course terrified because spoiler if you haven’t read The Heir but at the end America, has a heart-attack, and Eadlyn’s twin brother Ahren goes to France to marry his long-time lover and leaves a brutally honest note. And reading about America for such a long time I of course was terrified for her.
But most of this was quickly resolved and you soon realize that the real problem in this book will be Eadlyn’s heart and who it will fall for. And let me tell you, you probably might see it coming. But, what you don’t realize is her decision to pick that person or not. Yeah, being in Kiera Cass’ books are tough (speaking of which look for my review of her book The Siren coming on Thusday.)
I gave this book a 5 out of 5 stars. Just because of it’s ability to make you feel inner turmoil and then leave you feeling all warm and fuzzy at the end.
Would you read more by this author?
Uh, I already have but if she wrote more A MILLION TIMES YES! YES! YES!
Would you encourage others to read this book?
ANOTHER MILLION TIMES YES! As long as they read the rest of the series first.
Alright guys that’s my spill. Have you guys read The Selection Series? What did you think? I love you guys! Bye! ~Blonde
