The Birthstone Book Tag!!

Hey guys it’s Blondie and for this Sunday book tag I am going to be doing the Birthstone Book Tag…as you can probably tell from the title. So let’s just get started!

January (Garnet) ~ Associate with warding off negative forces and dark energies ~ Name a book with the darkest/evilest character you can think of.

The Mortal Instruments. This series has a surprising number of bad to the bone, chillingly evil characters from Valentine to Sebastian to the “anti-Jace” as I have begun calling the Sebastian bound Jace. But I’m not talking about any of those people, I’m talking about the mother of all evil, old as time itself, Lilith.

February (Amethyst) ~ Purple is associated with royaltly ~ Name a book with regal qualities…you can base this off of characters or choose the King of all books.

For this one I’m picking The Selection Series, since I am officially naming this Kiera Cass week. Mainly because it’s all about royalty and IT’S AMAZING!

March (Aquamarine) ~ Washed out ~ Name a ‘wishy washy’ character, a character who is not strong or a follower.

I think I’m going to pick Josie from the Selection. Yes, she does come through in the end but when ever I think ‘weak character’ ‘wishy-washy’ or ‘follower’ I think Josie. Sorry Jos.

April (Diamond) ~ A diamond in the rough ~ Name a book that you loved but is not well known.

Everytime the subject about lesser known books is brought up everyone should know by now that the answer is Everything That Makes You by Moriah McStay. Read my interview with her here. and my review about this book here.

May (Emerald) ~ Said to balance energy ~ Name two characters who balance eachother well.

June (Pearl) ~ Associated with loyalty ~ Name a character that is loyal to the end.

Peeta from The Hunger Games. Do I even have to explain this one?

July (Ruby) ~ Blood red ~ Name a book that made your blood boil, one that made you angry.

This Is Where It Ends by Marieke Nijkamp. The inaccuracy of this book had me pretty boiled. Read my interview here.

August (Peridot) ~ It pales in comparison to other charms ~ Name a supporting character who you like better than the main character.

Okay in A Court of Thorns and Roses for a part of the book not a big part, but a part I liked Lucien better than Feyre. Just for a bit.

September (Sapphire) ~ Blue like the calming sea ~ Name a book that had a calming affect on you.

Definetley The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight by Jennifer E. Smith. Wow that was a mouthful. Read my review on it here.

October (Opal) ~ Iridescent ~ Name an iridescent book, this can be a book with a beautiful color or it can be a character.

I’m going to HAVE to go with A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas. Because the cover is stunning, the plotline is meltingly beautiful, the characters backgrounds are like onions, crinkled, will make you cry, and have A TON of layers, and don’t even get me started on Tamlin I’m pretty sure I melted at the scene where he took Feyre as his mate AHHHHH!

November (Topaz) ~ Associated with resilience ~ Name a character who rises to the top in the time of adversity.

Cath from Fangirl. Yeah, I know it took her awhile but she eventually reached the top and overcame her misfortunes, with Levi at her side.

December (Blue Zircon) ~ Associated with frienship ~ Name a book with a friendship that you want to be apart of.

The friendships between Annabeth and Percy in PJO and HOO. Yes, I know they’re technically a couple but they were friends who had eachother’s back in fights. Which I strive for.

Okay guys, that’s all for this book tag. I’ll see you on Monday! Love you guys! Bye! ~Blondie
