I have been asked so many times, “How do you just sit there and read all the time?” So, I decided to do the TMI Tag to tell you all about it. (By the way, if you don’t know what TMI is, Mom, it means too much information.)
1. Do you have a certain place at home for reading?
Not really, I can read virtually anywhere. But my ideal place is in my bed.
2. Bookmark or random piece of paper?
Random piece of paper normally. I love the post it notes because I write quotes down from the book that I’m reading that I like. But here lately, my librarian has gotten me into using the little paint swatches that you get when you’re trying the find a paint color.
3. Can you stop reading anytime or do you have to stop at a certain page, chapter, part, etc.?
I can stop wherever. But, if I don’t stop at either the very first word of a page, or the very last word of a page, I get confused and loose my spot and have no idea where I stopped and I end up reading a page twice.
4. Do you eat or drink while reading?
I don’t eat while reading, because it distracts me and there’s like a 99.9% chance that I will get it all over the pages. But, there is nothing better than a good cup of hot chocolate, and a good book.
5. Can you read while listening to music/watching TV?
Yep. I actually get more absorbed into what I’m reading if there is something making noise, than if it’s dead silent. Because, dead silence is so unusual for me I get uncomfortable and just can’t read. But, a TV playing football or a speaker blasting 5 seconds of summer are perfect reading conditions for me.
6. One book at a time, or several at once?
ONE BOOK AT A TIME! I have tried to read more than one at a time and failed completely. I either end up dropping one book completely or both of them. Ugh! That makes me shiver just thinking about it.
7. Reading at home or everywhere?
Everywhere. I’ve actually learned I read quicker if I’m and about, rather than at my house, laying down with all the distractions of home.
8. Reading out loud or reading inside your head?
Inside my head. I don’t know how some people read out loud. Like, in my head I can picture what the character is saying, how they are saying it, etc. etc. (Also I tend to be able to talk better in my head.)
9. Do you read ahead or skip pages?
Uh, no, that would ruin the book. But, I do, do this thing where I always read the very last word. Not, to the point to where it ruins the story though. Just so I now what the very last word is.
10. Do you break the spine, or keep it new?
Keep it new. But, with some paper-backs that’s pretty impossible. So, if you look on my shelf you can easily point out which ones have a broken spine and which do not.
11. And lastly, do you write in your books
Not unless it’s a book I know I’m going to be doing a Socratic Seminar or taking a test over. Which is not very many books. So short answer: no.
Alright that’s all for now guys, and make sure to check out my Bryan Bliss interview that I put up on Monday. (Because that’s a pretty big deal) Click here to go straight to it.
You guys are amazing! Bye! ~Blondie
